To help prevent scamming and potential [botnet attacks](https://github.com/rustdesk/rustdesk/discussions/14167), this public server currently requires users to log in before connecting.
> [!Caution]
> At present, only controllers are required to log in (it is **free**).
>
> If botnet abuse continues, controlled devices may also be required to log in. In that case, both the controller and the controlled device must be logged in under the same user account.

> # RustDesk is designed to be [self-hosted](https://www.reddit.com/r/rustdesk/comments/1cr8kfv/should_you_selfhost_a_rustdesk_server/). This public server is provided for _demonstration_ and _testing_ only. Please do not use it for production or sensitive work.
### Please click on `Settings` icon of the main window as below.

### Then go to `Account` and click on `Login` as below.

### Choose the third-party login
Username/password login is not available on our public server. Please use the third-party login buttons (e.g. Google, GitHub) below. If they are not showing up, please wait a moment as it may be due to a slow network connection.
